I got this book the weekend that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows came out. Instead of rereading DH on Sunday, I had to finish this book. It was that good.

Reynie is smart, very smart. He figures out puzzles easily, so when he sees an ad that calls for gifted children, he enters. The tests prove to be much more difficult than expected, so difficult in fact that only four children pass. Reynie soon learns that there is a greater purpose to these tests that might put his life in danger.

The Mysterious Benedict Society is a book that will stay on my shelf for a very long time. You won’t stop laughing at spoiled, grumpy Constance, who you feel to have no purpose at all, until- That’s all I’m going to say.
