This book, by Dia Calhoon, is, so far, one of the most satisfying books that I have read in a very long time. Avielle is a princess of Rhia, but is shunned by all because of her dredonian blood. Her skin shines like the new moon, and her ears are pointed. She is the spitting image of her evil great grandmother Dovolka. Avielle weaves beautifully, but one dreadful night, her patterns come to life. If anyone finds out, they will think that Avielle has evil magic like her ancestor.

I haven’t finished this book yet, but so far, it is fascinating. I’m only half way through, and I hope I won’t have to turn it into the library soon!

It’s summer now, so I’ll be posting A LOT more. I’d like to recommend Shannon Hale books one more time! I would start with the Goose Girl.
